- This brings up a point that has caused me to feel quite insulted by
- the Amazing publishers (probably not intended).
-
- I am a long time reader of many different Amiga magazines including
- the fine German ones (Amiga, C't). The thing that always struck me
- was that they addressed ALL users in each issue. There were articles
- aimed at game players, beginners, programmers, hackers, and people
- who just wanted information. I felt that when Amazing chose to put
- out a separate "Tech" magazine, they were telling me that I was too
- dumb, as a reader of their "normal" magazine, to understand or
- appreciate the higher wisdom and greater intellectual content of the
- "Tech" pages, unless I was dumb enough to subscribe to two magazines.
-
- Am I overly sensitive (probably) or is this an example of the elitism
- that has caused so many problems for the Amiga in the USA market?
-
- I recently saw a copy of "Amiga Tech" in a local book store. There
- were no copies left of the (dumbo) Amazing Amiga so I didn't buy
- anything as the "techie" stuff was, obviously, way over my head... ;)
-
- Imagine the possible size of Amazing if they added the content of
- the "Tech" with the "Normal" magazine. There must be enough advertizers
- to support both magazines so why are they still two newsletters instead
- of one real general Amiga resource for all?
